BuildTheFolio uses minimal tracking technology. We prioritize functional performance over user surveillance.

1. Essential & Functional Cookies

We utilize strictly necessary HTTP-only cookies to manage secure sessions, process authentications, and ensure the basic routing and security of the application. The platform cannot function without these.

2. Browser Storage on Portfolios

Published portfolios save a few small settings in the visitor's own browser. They stay on that device, are not used to identify anyone, and can be cleared at any time from the browser's settings:

• Whether the visitor chose light or dark mode.
• Which articles the visitor has liked, so an article can't be liked twice from the same browser.
• When the visitor last opened each article, so an article's all-time view count includes each reader at most once a day.

3. Analytics

Portfolio and article analytics are built into BuildTheFolio and use no cookies. Visitors are counted with an identifier that changes every day and cannot be traced back to a person, IP addresses are never stored, and no third-party analytics or advertising service is involved. Your visitors are not tracked across other websites.

4. Spam and Bot Protection

Sign-in, sign-up and portfolio contact forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a real person is using the form. Cloudflare may use its own strictly necessary technical data to do this; it is not used for advertising.
